Gary Earle Coleman, of Braham, Minnesota, formerly of New Brighton, MN, unexpectedly passed into the Loving Arms of Jesus at home on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at the age of 65.
Gary was born Nov. 3, 1950 in Minneapolis, MN to Kenneth and Linnea (Anderson) Coleman. He grew up in New Brighton, the fourth of six siblings, and graduated from Mounds View High School. After high school he attended Pine City Vo Tech.
On Nov. 10, 1979, he married Patricia (Dintzner) Coleman in West St. Paul, MN. Gary and Pat moved to Braham in 1980 and raised their three children in the home where they currently reside. He worked as a welder/machinist at several shops and lastly for Johnson Screens of New Brighton for 25 years.
Gary’s passions were his family, friends and his faith in God. He was an active member in the Scriptures for America church where he had many published articles. He was a self-proclaimed evangelist and spread his love of God and worldly beliefs to anyone he met. He loved anything mechanical, especially fixing cars, was a collector of everything and spent his weekends attending swap meets and gun shows. Gary was known for his gift of gab, his big smile, and dry sense of humor. He loved being a grandpa and often vocalized how much joy his grandchildren brought him. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry.
Gary is survived by his wife Patricia; son Russell (Julie) and grandson Wyatt Coleman of Braham, MN; daughter Kate (Kevin Reiser) and granddaughters Olivia and Harper Reiser of Louisville, KY; daughter Rachel (Greg Haubrich) and grandson Dylan Haubrich of Olivia, MN; brother Wayne (Mariela) of Lynnwood, WA; brother Tyson of Seatle, WA; and brother Gene (Kathy) of Standwood, WA; many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at the Braham Covenant Church with Rev. Steve Jennisch officiating. Interment will be in the Mission Covenant Cemetery in Braham.
