Louann Gail Paulson

Louann Gail Paulson, of Grasston MN, passed away peacefully at home on December 4, 2016. She was 74 years old.
Louann was born on June 7, 1942 in Braham, MN to Clarence and Ruth (Moline) Thunberg. She grew up on the family farm in Grasston, and attended school locally. She met Gilbert Lucht; they married on February 7, 1958. To this union three sons were born, Laurel, Lane and Lonny. The Lucht family made their home in Braham and later Grasston. She was awarded her Secondary School Equivalency Certificate on March 30, 1971. After graduating from the Anoka-Hennepin Practical Nursing Program on July 10, 1975, she earned her license on September 18, 1975. She worked at clinics and hospitals in Mora MN, Cambridge MN and Spring Lake Park MN. Everett Paulson came into her life in 1980, and the two married on June 20, 1981. She welcomed his three children into her life, Mark, Tod and Susan Paulson. They built a log home in Bethel MN, and later moved to Grasston where they built their dream retirement home. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston. Louann enjoyed being a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Louann enjoyed having dinner and coffee with family and friends. With close friends, she went to the casino often, made many trips out of state, and gathered together for lobster every New Year’s Eve at one of their homes.
Louann is survived by six children, Laurel Lucht (Braham, MN), Lane Lucht (Reston, VA), Lonny (Nancy) Lucht (Pine, City MN), Mark Paulson (Trade Lake, WI), Tod Paulson (Trade Lake, WI), and Susan (Jim) Wilkus (Underwood, MN); eight grandchildren, Brandon (Tracy) Lucht, Tony (Angie) Lucht, Diana (Andrew) Johnson, Casey Lucht, Sully Lucht, Ellen Ferry, Spencer Ferry, and Emily Paulson; five great-grandchildren, Caleb Lucht, Nicholas Lucht, Alexis Lucht, Maxx Johnson, and Sawyer Johnson; one sister Barbara Sorkilmo (Otsego, MN); three sisters-in-law Carole Paulson (Siren, WI), Jean Foster (Roberts, WI), and Sandra Olson (Waskish, MN); two brothers-in-law Hubert Lindblad (Naples, FL) and Joseph (Judy) Paulson (New Richmond WI); close friends Marge Peterson, Gale and Alice Paulus; cat Angel as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Everett and his parents Clarence and Matie Paulson; her parents; step-father Olaf Hellzen; one brother Duane Thunberg; two sisters Arlene Swanson and Iris Lindblad; and four brothers-in-law Gerald Swanson, Clayton Sorkilmo, Jim Foster, and David Olson.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9th at Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston. Rev. James Sodergren officiated. Music was provided by Elaine Keehr and Ellen Ferry. Casket bearers were Louann’s grandchildren. Interment was at Wood River Cemetery in Grantsburg, WI.
