Merilyn Splittstoser

Merilyn Splittstoser, age 82, of Isanti, died at her home on March 22, 2017.
Merilyn Joan Splittstoser was born March 8, 1935 in Oxford Township, Isanti County, to Kermith and Bernice (Twingstrom) Stone. She was raised in Oxford Township and graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1953. Merilyn married the “love of her life” Ordeen Splittstoser on June 25, 1955. They made their first home in Cambridge and later moved to the farm in Isanti County and remained in the area for their married life.
Merilyn was employed in various administrative positions in her career, however, her best stories came from her experiences driving school bus while raising her family. Merilyn attended North Isanti Baptist Church and was active in her church over the years. She and Ordeen found joy in doing everyday things together. They attended as many of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities as they could. They wanted to be at all extended family events to enjoy the experiences, provide support and give encouragement.
Merilyn loved music and sang in the church choir. She loved gardening. She was exceptional at remembering birthdays, anniversaries and special events for all of us. We will all miss her special cards with underlined phrases. She also enjoyed bowling and rollerskating with Ordeen and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermith and Bernice, and her brother, Dean Stone.
Merilyn is survived by her husband, Ordeen of Isanti; sister Sharon (Tom) Bloomquist of Isanti; and four children, Sheryl Dee of Stillwater, Wendy (Gene) Prigge of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Rollie (Peggie) Splittstoser of Isanti, Julie (Mark) Wolak of Pine, Springs, Minnesota. She and Ordeen have 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews, along with many relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at North Isanti Baptist Church on Saturday, March 25, 2017, with Pastors Travis Blake and Randy Westerberg officiating. Burial will be in Isanti Union Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at StrikeFuneral.com.
