On Sunday, June 11th we lost a special man as a result of a massive heart attack. He loved his family more then he would say. He was a gentle and kind man that lived to help others, a true servant. He is survived by his wife and best friend Laurie Saiden-Wilkening; sons Stetson (Jess) and Ben (Tabbie); grandchildren (Kaileigh, Anika, Skyler, Cheyanne); mother Judy Wilkening of Cambridge; siblings Rob (Margie), MaryAnn (Tom); sisters-in-law, Cherie, and Nancy (Steve), and may beloved friends and family. He was preceded in death by all four grandparents, his brother Jeff died 9/2/16 and his father, Dallad, died 12/20/16.
As an animal lover, he will be deeply missed by his fury kids (Hermie, Maddie, and Gracie). Todd was well known for his commitment and comprehensive approach to solving his client's business issues. He had over 35 years' experience working directly with health care owners in Property, Facilities and Construction Management. His innate passion for the facilities Management industry was felt by owners, colleagues and staff alike and has thus helped Todd bring owners creative solutions, to include many local and national awards in Facilities and Environmental Management and Sustainability. He ran a faith based company as he was a very spiritual man. Todd founded FMAdvantage, LLC to help serve the ongoing needs of the Facilities Management industry with a focus
on being a partner looking out for the best interest of owners in partnership with key resources and educational aides. Todd had been a speaker for corporate education seminars spanning over the past 15 years, including private and public organizations, IFMA, HCI, ASHE, TJC, State of Minnesota, University of Minnesota and WCCO Radio. Todd had served as the Vice President of Research for the International Facility Managers Association's Health Care Institute (IFMA-HCI) and was pursuing his interest in continued research with IFMA-HCI Midwest for the advancement of health care facility management. Todd was also a known publisher for multiple media sources regarding complex facility management issues. Todd enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling.
A ceremony celebrating the life of Todd Wilkening was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley on Friday, June 23.
