
Edward Joseph Karolevitz, age 68, of Ogilvie, MN passed away on July 13, 2017 at First Light Hospital in Mora, MN.
Ed was born in Sandborn, Iowa to Daniel and Shirley (nee Kreber) Karolevitz on June 21, 1949. His family moved to Waseca, MN and it was there that he completed his high school education. He went on to Anoka Technical Institute, earning a degree in business and sales. He was united in marriage with Sandra West on November 8, 1969 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Weber, MN.
He worked as an operator for the Teamsters and the 49ers for many years.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war in the intelligence operations center in Japan. He was awarded the Army Achievement and Army Commendation medals also receiving an NSA Commendation Award.
Ed’s hobbies included anything related to cars, trucks, and NASCAR Racing. He also enjoyed tackling massive home improvement projects and watching his favorite western movies to relax.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandy; children, Jason (Sally), Stephanie Flynn, Justin (Megan), Jeremy (Jessy), Jamie (Jake) Carlyle; grandfather of Garrett, Tyler, Abbi, Cameron, Mackenzie, Brock, Greyson, Brady, Colton, Lexie, Addi, Kale’a and Burton. Also survived by his sisters, Barbara Nellis, Betty Anderson, Jolene (Rollie) Beach; brothers, Daniel Karolevitz, Jerry (Hope) Karolevitz, Jim (Amber) Karolevitz; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Shirley Karolevitz.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home 311 S. Ashland St. Cambridge 763-689-2244. Visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery with honors. Memorials preferred.
