Sharon Engstrom

Sharon Louise Engstrom, 59, of Dalbo, passed away November 17, 2013 at her home surrounded by family after a courageous 4 1/2 year battle with cancer.
Sharon was born Sept. 8, 1954 in McLaughlin, S.D. to George and Delores (Hauck) Friez. Her parents moved the family to Glencross, S.D. in 1956 and in 1959 they moved to Cambridge, Minn. In April 1960 her parents bought a home and farm just 2 miles north of Pine Brook where Sharon and her siblings grew up.
On Nov. 25, 1972 she married Craig Engstrom at The Salem Lutheran Church of Dalbo. They made their home in Dalbo and raised their two daughters Tina and Lynn.
Sharon worked at Fingerhut in Princeton, Minn., at the Bindery in Grandy and Cambridge.
Sharon was the happiest person and nothing would ever get her down. She was the clown of the family and loved to be with her family. She loved shopping, playing bingo and going to the casino. She was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her. One of Sharons wishes before she passed away was to be baptized and on the morning of Nov. 17 she became a child of God by being baptized by Pastor Sarah Bunge.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Harold Engstrom; mother-in-law Ardis (Engstrom) Herman and sister-in-law Denise Engstrom.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Craig Engstrom; daughters Tina Engstrom and Lynn (Engstrom) Hoppe; her best buddy and grandson Jaxson Hoppe; brothers Clyde (Cheryl) Friez, and Randy (Vonnie) Friez; sisters Mary (Darold) Lundberg, Debbie (James) Dalen, Becky Friez, Dorthy (Alan) Johnson and Karen Hauger; brothers-in-law Keith Engstrom and Scott Engstrom; many nieces and nephews; aunts Delila Buechler and Betty (Jim) Boatman; uncle Monte (Delores) Hauck as well as many other relatives and friends.
Sharons family would also like to thank friends and family for all that they did in helping take care of Sharon.
Visitation was held at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge Friday, Nov. 22 with a prayer service by Rev. Randy Westerberg and Pastor Sarah Bunge that evening. Interment was Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Dalbo Baptist Cemetery, Dalbo, Minn.
