Ethel Karin (Pearson) Ostrom, 88, of Cambridge, Minn., passed away peacefully November 27, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing surrounded by loving family.
Ethel was born Aug. 16, 1925 in Minneapolis, to Louis and Anna (Eckman Lindquist) Pearson. She married Wilfred R. Ostrom Nov. 7, 1943 in Minneapolis and they raised a family and farmed southwest of Cambridge.
Ethel worked at Control Data and made many longtime friends. She volunteered at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels for Cambridge Lutheran Church, where she was a long time member.
Ethel is survived by her children, Sheryle Chubb, Sandra (Claire) Stolee, David (Janice) Ostrom, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sister Edith Montbriand; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other family and friends.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilfred Ostrom in 1987; as well as eight siblings.
She enjoyed traveling, walking, birds, her dog and times with friends and relatives. Her greatest joy came from being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family of Ethel Ostrom is sincerely grateful for the loving care and support provided by the staff at River Hills, GracePointe and Allina Hospice Care.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Cambridge Lutheran Church and burial in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cambridge Meals on Wheels or the Alzheimers Association. Arrangements by the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cambridge.
