ob_BorchardtBillie Jean Borchardt, 46, of Braham and formerly Willow River, passed away in a car accident on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

Billie Jean was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 6, 1966. She graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1985 and from St Catherine’s. She taught school for a few years after graduation. She also was a substitute teacher at Braham Elementary School and a cheerleading coach at the high school. She was an author and worked at Rush City Prison for the last 5 years.

She was a volunteer Girl Scout leader in Willow River for many years. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She enjoyed doing craft projects and gardening with her family and friends. She was a proud mother of Brandon, Sam and Jessica and a proud adopted mother of Justin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alyce Ellis, and brother in law Watt Douglas.

She is survived by her children Brandon, Sam (Marie), Jessica Borchardt and Justin Ellis, and her fiance Ralph Hubbell. She is also survived by her sisters Lenora, Kim, and Treonne, and by many nieces and nephews.

Her body was donated to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the U of Minnesota.

The service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at noon at the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church, 905 West Central Drive. A reception will follow at the church.
