James (Jim) Lindell, age 59, of Cambridge passed away December 5, 2015.
Jim was born to Gerald (Jerry) and Lorraine (Setterlund) Lindell on July 10, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in the Cambridge/Isanti area and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1974.
After graduating, Jim worked for Jim Starr Glass and then joined his father in the family heating and air-conditioning business, J&J Heating. They worked together until Jerry retired in 1987 and Jim took full ownership. After closing the business, Jim worked for a fly-in fishing camp in the Northwest Territories and then returned to the heating and air conditioning business in recent years.
Jim married Carol Hjelm in 1976 making their home in the Cambridge/Isanti area where they had three children, Mike, Scott and Heidi.
Time spent outdoors was valuable to Jim. He spent many weekends at the hunting cabin near Northhome, MN with family and good friends. Annual trips to northern MN and Canada created fishing and hunting tales that will forever be told in Jim’s memory and will always include a laugh—or two!
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cindy Olson who undoubtedly greeted him in Heaven with an epic game of Rook.
He is survived by his children; Mike and wife Andrea of Braham, Scott and wife Angela of Cambridge, and Heidi and husband Ben Holmberg of Stanchfield; sister Joyce, brother Larry and wife Marilyn, sister Diane and husband Steve Wicklund, and brother Ron and wife Leah, as well as many nephews and nieces. Jim had four grandchildren: Klara, Elijah, Isak and Emmett.
A memorial service will be held at New Hope Community Church in Cambridge on Saturday, December 12 at 4 p.m. with Pastor Bill Berg celebrating Jim’s life.
