Mark John Lundeen Jr, 84, of Glenwood City, Wis., died August 22, 2013 at Glenhaven Nursing Home with Hospice.
Mark was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Princeton Minn. to Mark and Edna (Anderson) Lundeen. He was raised in Isanti, Minn. and graduated from St Francis Public High School. He went on to Dunwoody Institute for Auto Mechanics and served three years in the US Air Force and served in Greenland during the Korean War. On April 4, 1953 he married Phyllis Jean Carlson and they celebrated 60 years of marriage and were blessed by seven children. He spent his lifetime as a mechanic who could make anything run, a farmer who loved antique tractors, a reader of anything he could find, especially a newspaper … a hard working man of great knowledge and a lover of auctions and sharing stories. He enjoyed snowmobiling and sold Chapparal machines and was a member of the Ridge Runners Snowmobile club for many years. He spent the last two years of his life in the loving care of Glenhaven Nursing Home. Special thanks to the staff who loved and cared for him during his stay with them.
He was preceded by his parents, Mark and Edna Lundeen, his in-laws Arthur and Violet Carlson, and his brother-in-law Ron Swanson. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, children; Terry (Kathy Sue) Lundeen, Judy (Chris) Larson, Kevin Lundeen, Kathy (Lon) Schmidt, Connie(Joe) Isenhour, Kristi (Jeff) Miller, Karyn (Steve) Mousel, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth (Robert) Maples and Elna Swanson, 1 brother, Phillip (Betty) Lundeen, 2 brother-in-laws, Roger (Faye) Carlson, Russ Carlson (Frank), many nieces and nephews and special family members; Mike and Lynne Cassellius family and Katie Hoffman and Kala Thompson.
Funeral services were held Aug. 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Bradley Peterson officiating. Graveside service and burial was held Aug. 27 at Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery, Cambridge, Minn. Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, Wis. handled arrangements.
