Doris Mae Lepinski, 72, of Princeton, formerly of Stanchfield, went to her home in heaven on Monday, May 13, 2013 surrounded by her family at the Elim Home in Princeton, Minn.
Doris Mae was born Aug. 9, 1940 in St. Paul, Minn. to parents Orvie and Myrtle (Birr) Bittner. On Feb. 15, 1958, Doris was united in marriage to Tunney Ray Lepinski in Maplewood, Minn. Together they made a home in Oakdale. Doris and Tunney were blessed with three daughters, Darla, Julie, and Brenda. Once her daughters were all in school, Doris began working as a school cook. In early 1970, Doris and Tunney moved to a farm in Princeton where Doris loved to take care of the animals. She also enjoyed planning a large garden which she harvested and canned for the winters. She enjoyed sewing, making clothes for her daughters and made many quilts. In later years, Doris and Tunney moved to Stanchfield where they built two different homes, the last being Doris’ favorite. While living in Stanchfield, Doris worked for Grandview Christian Homes as an activities assistant for 17 years. Doris and Tunney moved to a home in Finlayson. Due to declining health in 2007, Doris and Tunney moved to Princeton with their daughter Darla. When Doris’ care needs demanded additional care, she lived in several different care facilities before settling at Elim Home in Princeton. Doris was so happy there and enjoyed the staff and their loving care. Doris loved spending time with her great-granddaughters Ally, Haley, and Carly; sharing a very special relationship.
Doris loved the Lord and would always tell others the message of salvation. She loved attending and leading Bible studies, singing in the church choir or with the Praise Team, acting in church plays, and spending many years teaching Sunday school.
