Jane Elizabeth Hansen passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She was 57 years old.
Jane was born on September 25, 1955 to Willard and Dorothy (Strassman) Rask in Eau Claire, Wis. She was the oldest of four children. The family relocated to Coon Rapids. Later, Jane’s family moved to Braham. Jane graduated from Braham High School as valedictorian. She then attended nursing school at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
On September 14, 1984 Jane married Mark Hansen at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. The couple lived outside of Cambridge. Jane worked as a registered nurse at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for 39 years.
Jane enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, fishing and big game hunting. She was a master shopper. In later years, she was active at the Siloa Lutheran Church in Braham. Jane loved her grandchildren. She was a loving wife and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy; step-brother Randy; and best pal, Whisper.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Hansen; step-children, Dawn (Tim) Sofie and Aaron (Linnea) Hansen; three grandchildren: Karlee and Alexis Sofie, Owen Hansen; father, Willard (Florence) Rask; brothers, Bill (Kay) Rask and Pete (Karen) Rask; sister, Mary (Dean) Morrison; step-siblings: Larry (Mary) Lindquist, Dave Lindquist, Chuck (Betty) Lindquist, Judy (Gale) Dawson, Cindy Peterson, Don (Vicki) Lindquist, Debra (Duane) Reynolds; god-son, Jeremy Morrison; god-daughter and niece, Sarah (Brandon) Evan; niece, Robyn Rask; special pet, Miley; many nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Cambridge Lutheran Church with Rev. Dave Everett officiating. Music was provided by Mary Kay O’Neill. Pallbearers were Bill Rask, Pete Rask, Jessie Rask, Aaron Hansen, Tim Sofie, and Ryan Dunbar. Honorary Pallbearer was Keith Peterson. Interment was at Siloa Lutheran Cemetery in Braham.
