
Kenneth John Drilling, 59, passed away peacefully at his home in Isanti, Minnesota on April 4, 2016.
Ken was born in Waterloo, Iowa on August 4, 1956. He attended high school in LaPorte City, Iowa. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1974 and worked as a jet mechanic. He had a distinguished career in sheet metal technology.
Ken was an avid car enthusiast, building monster trucks and restoring old cars. He was a proud member of the Isanti Community. He loved being in the water, scuba diving, boating and traveling to tropical destinations. He also enjoyed Tae Kwon Do.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Joanne, sister Christine Drilling, nephew Eric Drilling, great-nephew Atrios Drilling; parents-in-law Donald and Melva Peterson, and brothers-in-law Terry and Tom Peterson.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Cathy; daughter Nicole (Chad); son Jeremy (Jenell); step children Amanda (Tone) and Adam (Katie); as well as 12 grandchildren; brothers Steve, Marty (Marie); sisters Jody Maxfield (Marsha), Gina Wagner (George), Mary Terry, Maureen Apel (Andy), Peggy Drilling and Rose Ivy. Also survived by brother-in-law James Peterson (Karen), sisters-in-law Marnie Guthrie (Lynn), Lori Daudt (Terry), Allison Adkins, Judy Peterson and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Spirit River Community, 1321 Heritage Boulevard, Isanti, MN 55040. Visitation will begin one hour before the service.
