Violet E. Kriesel

Violet Emma Kriesel, 78, of Isanti passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Elim Home in Princeton.
She was born on June 2, 1937 in Princeton, MN to Ruben and Mabel (Hansen) Meyer. Violet grew up on the family farm in rural Princeton. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Princeton. Vi attended country school and graduated from Princeton High School in 1955.
On September 24, 1955 she was united in marriage to Wendell Kriesel at Zion Lutheran Church, Princeton. They lived on her family farm until 1959 when they moved to their home in the Oxlip area which is where they would raise their three children.
Violet worked various jobs over the years, was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church of Crown and Joy Lutheran Church. She was a current member of Long Lake Lutheran Church.
Vi enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and made many things over the years. She also liked cooking, fishing and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Wendy on July 31, 2011.
Violet is survived by her children Lynn (Michael) Erickson of Stanchfield, Paula (Bernard) Hierlmaier of Isanti, Kevin (Joleen) Kriesel of Isanti; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother Carl (JoAnn) Meyer of Princeton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Long Lake Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery.
