Raymond George Mullen, age 93, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 13th, 2016.
Ray was born January 8th, 1923 in Cass Lake, MN.
He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII where he was instrumental in collecting images and developing topographical maps as a part of aerial reconnaissance. On August 25th 1951, he married Joan Hultquist, and they made their home in Cambridge, MN where Ray became a prominent business man and remained an active recreational small aircraft pilot until the age of 85.
Ray always had a love for working with his mind and his hands building airplanes and houses, and later in life, constructing a model train system in his garage. He enjoyed spending his summers at his cabin in Canada and the winter months in Texas. One of his greatest joys in life was being a grandpa; he was particularly excited that he got to be a great grandpa to his great granddaughter Mackenzie (5 yrs).
Ray was an extraordinary man who will be missed by many. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family will be holding a private memorial.
