Lloyd Edward Falk Jr.

ob_FalkLloyd Edward Falk Jr., 57, of Mora, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He died surrounded by family.

Lloyd was born in Braham, Minn. to Lloyd Sr. and Lois (Lanning) Falk. His sister LuAnn welcomed him home. He attended Braham High School where he participated in football and graduated in 1974.

After graduation, he went to work at Fingerhut in Mora where he worked for over 20 years. During that time he met his wife Jeanette (Healy). They married Sept. 13, 1980 at her parents’ home in Mapleton, Minn.

Lloyd and Jeanette had two children: Samuel and Katherine.  Lloyd coached Sam’s MAYRA baseball team for two years. Katie had her dad wrapped around her little finger.

After leaving Fingerhut, Lloyd worked briefly with Don Olson & at Vander Vegt Electric. He spent the last 10 years as the “God of Traffic” at KBEK 95.5 FM.

Lloyd spent his spare time fishing, watching sports with his son Sam and grandson Carson, and beating his daughter Katie at cribbage. He even participated in the Mora Lion’s Club and Mora Chamber of Commerce Murder Mystery dinners.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Jeanette (Jan) of Mora; children Samuel of North St. Paul and Katherine of Menomonie, Wis.; grandson Carson of Mora; sister LuAnn (Falk) Gall of Blaine as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Memorial Service was held Friday, September 13, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Douglas Larson officiating.  Honorary urn bearers were Samuel Falk, Carson Falk, David Healy, Joe Radermacher, Ryan Gall and Derek Hughes. A private burial was at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family requests any donations be made in Lloyd’s name to Abbott Northwestern Hospital’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in Minneapolis.

Arrangements were handled by Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.
